After reading text of Greek myths by various authors, students then view youtube clips of the same myths. This has been a great way to compare/contrast different perspectives of Greek gods and storytelling in general. Our culminating activity to the Greek mythology unit is for students to create a ten slide Power Point presentation based on one Greek god, goddess, creaure, or monster that is their favorite. Each slide must contain at least one image of their god or goddess and at least one informational, expository paragraph providing information about their Greek god or goddess. Student motivation and interest has been very high for this activity and students are amazed to see the variations of how their god is perceived by differents artists and authors.
